About the positions
No youth camp happens without the involvement of passionate and dedicated people to assist students with their wellbeing, at the times when they need it. 

An opportunity exists for four teachers/school staff, two male and two female, to take on a pastoral care role with the students during the camp. Pastoral Carers will have an important role making sure students are where they are meant to be and that they are safe and cared for during the camp. Examples include assisting students waking on time daily and arriving to sessions and mealtimes, camp tuition activities, planned night time activities, extracurricular activities and night time routines, including being in their dorm beds by a certain agreed time each night. Assisting and supporting students with any personal concerns or occurrences that may arise at any time whilst on camp is also an extremely important aspect of these roles.

Remuneration will be by way of travel expenses to and from the camp, accommodation and meals in exchange for participation in the camp. 

The Pastoral Carers will attend the film camp along with the students. This is an extraordinary opportunity for their own professional and personal development. They will gain insight into the industry themselves, taking ideas and techniques back into the classroom to enhance their teaching in relevant subject areas including Screen and Media studies, English and Drama, as well as for their own personal knowledge and use. 

As this is a residential camp for more than 7 consecutive calendar days Pastoral Carers must hold a current First Aide Certificate and Blue Card or exemption card. You will be enlisted as a volunteer for Essential Screen Skills and not in the role as a teacher teaching at a QLD School.
