Screen Australia supports the development, production, promotion and distribution of Australian narrative (drama) and documentary screen content. The agency invests directly in Australian film, television, online titles and games. It also administers the Producer Offset tax incentive for Australian screen stories.

The agency also offers sector-building programs such as Enterprise, initiatives including Gender Matters and funding through Screen Australia’s First Nations Department.

Screen Australia represents Australia’s screen industry internationally, including at festivals, markets and major awards. The agency also tracks and reports on industry health, maintains a database of Australian titles called The Screen Guide and provides free industry resources via Screen News.

Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA)
The primary role of the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA), a not-for-profit organisation, is to recognise, encourage, promote and celebrate film and television excellence in Australia, connecting Australian and international audiences with great Australian screen content.

The Academy serves as Australia’s most prestigious film and television membership body, bringing together and representing screen professionals from a cross-section of the screen industry in order to further screen excellence in Australia.

Australia has produced some of the best screen performers, practitioners and productions in the world, and the Academy remains committed to promoting, within Australia and internationally, Australia’s best and brightest screen professionals and the great Australian stories which they tell on the big and small screens.

Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF)
The Australian Children’s Television Foundation is a national not-for-profit children’s media production and policy hub.  They aim to make children’s lives better through screen content that reflects our culture and values.  To achieve this, they provide funding to Australian producers and contribute to policy development in the children’s television space.

Trade body established to represent and promote the views and interests of Australian independent film distributors.

Community Broadcasting Foundation
Each year the Community Broadcasting Foundation grants funding to help community media organisations communicate, connect and share knowledge through independent radio, television and digital media.  Their grants are allocated twice per year, with the majority of funding allocated in the first round.

Indigenous Languages and Arts Program
The Indigenous Languages and Arts Program (ILA) supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to express, preserve and maintain their cultures through languages and arts activities around Australia.

National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA)
The NFSA is Australia’s national audiovisual cultural institution. We collect, preserve and share Australia’s audiovisual culture.

Screenrights
Screenrights is a non-profit organisation that pays secondary royalties to content creators, licenses educators, government and retransmitters to use broadcast programs, and provides rights and royalty management services to the screen industry.

Screen Safe Australia
Everyone involved in screen production – whether writers, producers, directors, grips, gaffers, stunt performers, runners or extras – need to work to create and promote a safety culture. This website is directed at productions of all levels in all media – from music videos to international co-productions.
