Art of the Pitch

Date:  Saturday 20 March 2021

The Art of Pitching YOU 9.00am – 10.30am

You can spend years honing your skills, you’ve studied, gotten the grades, collaborated, learned everything you need to know to make the world a better place.

BUT, you may have the best idea, service or product in the world, but if you can’t get into the room to pitch it, the world may never enjoy your genius.
But how to get into the room? How do you cut through and be noticed above other applicants? The brutal truth is that if you don’t cut through, you don’t cut through.
Your great idea goes nowhere. Learning to pitch yourself is the single most important skill in life and business – nail this and the world opens up to you.

This is not a ‘would like to have’ – it’s a ‘must have.’ Delivering your personal ‘elevator pitch’ in a way that’s interesting and engaging to others opens doors.
This workshop teaches you how to unlock those doors – how to pitch yourself, so you stand out from the crowd – you’re memorable – engaging – for all the right reasons.
It is wildly practical masterclass and everyone should leave with the ability to share their own personal genius with the world – their X Factor.

The Art of Pitching your IDEA 11.30am – 1.00pm

Content Creation is one of the hardest industries on earth.
Content creators, we’re good at pitching. We have to be. This masterclass is designed to give you every advantage possible, pitching into one of the toughest markets in the world – Australia. This is a practical workshop that will leave you with a pitching structure you can use to pitch anything you want, forever – ideas, creative products and services – everything from nonscripted formats to documentaries, game shows to movies, books, games, raising venture capital, dating, job interviews – everything.

Student pricing: $40

General admission: $70

Presenter: Maz Farrelly – The Producer

Session descriptions:

Learn how to pitch yourself and your idea so it lands. Give yourself the X Factor… Maz knows how – she made the show and won a Logie for it!

Maz has been to more showbiz parties than Kim Kardashian’s Spanx and down more red carpets than a Dyson. If you can stick a name plate on it and hand it over to loud applause, she’s won it – BAFTAs, Logies, ASTRAS, Royal Television Society Awards, UK Comedy Awards, Bronze Rose De Montreux. She’s made the biggest shows in the world, with the biggest teams, budgets, audiences and stars. More than eight billion people worldwide have watched her output. In TV and movies, if Maz doesn’t grab your attention in the first thirty seconds, you’re gone and you’re never coming back – millions of dollars wasted. It’s the same in business. If business doesn’t grab attention and keep it, it doesn’t matter if you have the best service, product or concept in the world – you can write but no one will read, you can speak but no one will listen and you can post video, but no one will watch. You have to cut through. She will help you pitch yourself and your idea, so it lands. It may hurt, but it’s a very good kind of pain.

After Session:  Participants can follow up with a question within 24 hours after the session and Maz will come back to you with an answer!
